Well; what a fantastic year for Smokie!
The band started off in Bulgaria, before heading to Ireland for what has become a regular fixture in our diary each February.
We also completed another UK Tour in March with gigs as far north as Inverness, before heading off to Denmark for a totally sold out tour in one of our favourite countries.
During the summer we had a great standout festival show, in Grassington, North Yorkshire. Unusual for us to play in the UK in the summer months, because we’re normally so busy abroad, but it really was a great well organised show and you turned out in great numbers, so once again a big thank you to our UK fans.
After the summer festival season and our well-earned, summer break, we ventured to Germany for one of the best tours of the year, a very rewarding experience that we all enjoyed immensely.
The highlight of the year though, would probably be the Symphony Tour that started in Budapest, Hungary and went on through the Czech Republic until mid-December. Very challenging, but both Orchestras that we used had really done their homework which made it more enjoyable for ourselves, bearing in mind that rehearsal time was very limited.
Our last two shows of the year in Northern Ireland were also great nights to round off what has been probably one of the most successful years we’ve ever had!
So, all that is needed to say is; Thank you to Smokie fans everywhere for your continued support.
